Matthew Shaughnessy, DMD, known by his patients as “Dr. Matt,” combines advanced training with a caring, personal approach to dentistry. After earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University, he completed a General Practice Residency at the Cleveland Clinic. Since then, he has pursued extensive continuing education through many programs including the Pankey Institute and Spear Education, earning both Fellowship and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry—an accomplishment achieved by fewer than 2% of dentists nationwide.

Dr. Matt has advanced skills in dental implants, cosmetic and esthetic dentistry, TMJ and bite therapy, sleep apnea treatment, oral surgery and sedation. With this wide-ranging expertise, he enjoys providing patients with personalized treatment options to improve not only their smiles but also their overall health and comfort. Patients appreciate his approachable, down-to-earth style and the time he takes to build lasting relationships.

Outside the office, Dr. Matt loves traveling and spending time with his wife, Ally, and their daughter, Aila.
